In 2008, Journal of  Food Science reported their research. Research conducted in mouses that had been fed honey was able to reduce weight up to 23% compared with a low-sugar food for a year.

“Honey that is used is honey with high antioxidant content. It causes greater fat burning. “, said Lynne Chepulis, Ph.D , the chairman of research and he is also the author of “Healing Honey” (Brown Walker Press, 2008).

According to him again, all the food that contain high antioxidant content (like green tea) can increase metabolism which affects to the increasing fat-burning. But we have to remember that not all honey is rich in antioxidant.
